Red, Valentine's Vintage Film Inspired Editorial Wedding Photo Shoot
Bold red tones, vintage charm, and one of the most iconic venues in Phoenix — Sophia and Thomas’s Inspired by vintage film and bold red romance, this styled shoot at Wrigley Mansion brought the drama in the best way. With a blend of timeless elegance and playful retro details, the day felt like stepping into a classic love story with a modern twist.
It was a smaller, more intimate wedding, but every detail was full of heart. You could tell from the start that the day was designed with care. Bold, stylish, and completely them.
Why We Love Shooting at Wrigley Mansion
Wrigley Mansion is one of those venues that just sticks with you. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by character — layered textures, vintage details, and some of the most interesting interior design I’ve seen in a wedding space. It’s got history, charm, and the kind of light that makes everything feel cinematic without trying too hard.
The views alone are incredible. The city on one side, the mountains on the other. But it’s the mix of architecture and atmosphere that really makes it special. It’s elegant without being stuffy, grand without feeling overwhelming.
As a photographer, it’s a dream to shoot here. Every corner offers something different, and the space just lends itself to bold color, big style, and thoughtful design. I’d shoot here again in a heartbeat.
A Valentine’s Day Dream in Red
Red was the thread that tied everything together, and it was everywhere in the best way. From the deep red roses and sculptural anthuriums to the velvet accents and rich-toned stationery, every piece of the design felt cohesive and layered without ever feeling overdone.
The florals by The Wild Flower AZ brought so much depth and texture. Lush arrangements spilled across tabletops and down ceremony pillars, mixing bold reds with soft greens and pops of mauve. They made the whole space feel full and romantic without taking over.
The cake was another standout. A tall, vintage-inspired design with piped white frosting and fresh cherries on top. Simple, fun, and a perfect nod to the Valentine’s theme.
I’ve seen red used in weddings before, but never quite like this. It wasn’t just a color, it became the mood of the day. Romantic, bold, and beautifully unexpected.
Two Looks, One Iconic Bride
The main dress had all the vintage romance you could want, classic lines, structured fabric, and the perfect touch of drama. Paired with a bold lip and timeless waves, it was giving full Valentine’s-meets-Old-Hollywood energy.
But when Sophia stepped out in her short, retro-inspired reception dress for the cake cutting and indoor portraits, the whole vibe shifted — in the best way. It was flirty, fun, and still so stylish.
I loved how the second look gave us a whole different mood to play with. Something a little more playful and carefree. If you’re on the fence about doing an outfit change for your reception, this is your sign: it’s not just cute, it’s so worth it.
